Overview

SOMA Kombucha Taproom, nestled in the vibrant heart of Seattle’s Capitol Hill at 701 E Pike St, offers a refreshing departure from the typical tea experience. This tea house specializes in kombucha, a fermented tea celebrated not only for its probiotic benefits but also for its stimulating flavors crafted through careful brewing. The taproom presents an inviting space where craft beverage aficionados and health-conscious visitors converge to explore a variety of kombucha blends on tap.

The atmosphere at SOMA Kombucha is both relaxed and modern, with an emphasis on community and connection. The interior blends industrial touches with cozy seating, creating an environment suited for solo reflection, casual meetups, or creative brainstorming. The open taproom layout encourages interaction, inviting guests to engage with knowledgeable staff keen on sharing insights about each brew’s unique ingredients and fermentation process.

What sets SOMA apart is its commitment to quality and innovation. The kombuchas here range from crisp and citrusy to rich and herbal, allowing patrons to discover new tastes while benefiting from the probiotic qualities inherent in fermented tea. This makes it a perfect destination for those looking to enjoy a sophisticated, non-alcoholic alternative that still delivers complexity and depth akin to a fine craft beer or artisanal cider.

Its location in Seattle—a city renowned for its appreciation of artisanal food and drink—adds to the taproom’s appeal. The surrounding neighborhood buzzes with an eclectic mix of eateries, galleries, and performance spaces, encouraging visitors to extend their sensory journey before or after sampling SOMA’s offerings.

Whether you are a seasoned kombucha drinker or newly curious about this ancient beverage, SOMA Kombucha Taproom provides an experience that honors tradition while embracing modern craft culture. Really cool spot to relax with something that'll help you. They sell all sorts of things like tinted glasses and cbd infused kombucha. I'm walking out feeling better than when I came in.

Once again I had the best experience in this business I've ever had at any other business, come on now, where else can you find an atmosphere like this with such a good vibe and be able to drink kombucha from the tap too??? I highly recommend visiting the shop if you are in Seattle, it's always very clean and the bathroom is very inviting. God blessed SOMA Kombucha, and if you're lucky you might even see the girl that works there.

Nice little escape from the city on a hot day. Popped in for a couple cold drinks. Nobody was in so it was fun to be in a quiet place and enjoy their selection. It was warm in there, didn’t seem like the AC was on. Regardless, I’ll be coming back. :)

EDIT as of Feb 9 2026: I am 99% sure the store is permanently closed as I walked by today and saw construction workers disassembling everything. I liked the CBD mushroom seltzers and will miss being able to buy them individually (their website has caseloads available for multi-day shipping). I was holding out hope that they would be able to come back after the unfortunate car crash in December, but I guess they weren't making enough profit even with radically reducing overhead by not having onsite staff. oh whale Seattle landlords once again would rather keep a property vacant and still choose to complain that Seattle is supposedly "dying", lol ORIGINAL REVIEW, from the first month of its opening: Had a nice chat with the owner which definitely made a good impression on me! My favorite flavor (of what they have right now) is the mango cayenne. You can even add a shot of CBD, or get CBD kombucha and other drinks! I really like the variety of on-tap and canned drinks here and will definitely be bringing my friends here

Very interesting place where you can try various kombuchas and it’s not staffed, which was different and interesting. Sadly they had no necklaces when I went, I really wanted one!
